Privacy policy

Last updated: August 2026

This policy describes how Veringo handles information when you use the Android app and the Veringo community API at api.veringo.app.

Information on your device

The app may access, store locally, or display:

Call logs and SMS content remain on your device. They are not uploaded to Veringo servers.

Community data (Veringo cloud)

When you use Veringo, we may process:

Community caller names and spam reports are aggregated to help all users identify callers. Contact sharing is off by default and can be toggled in Settings or during onboarding.

Google sign-in

If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information (such as your name, email, and profile photo URL) to create your in-app profile. Google’s privacy policy applies to sign-in.

Third-party lookups

Optional caller lookup features may query external websites to suggest a caller name. Only the phone number needed for lookup is sent to those services when you use that feature.

What we do not do

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account and contributions at any time from Settings → Privacy → Delete my data in the app. This removes your account and associated contributions from our servers.

Security

All communication with the Veringo API uses HTTPS. Protect your device and do not share your account credentials.

Children

Veringo is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us to request deletion.

Changes

We may update this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
